After the exams and the interviews, I remember going into a room with the detectives, the doctor and the social worker and crying and sitting there talking to them. It’s one of those moments I have forever in my brain that I hung onto when things were bad. And they said, “We’ve seen a lot of kids come through here unfortunately but we all believe this is going to have a good outcome, that he’s going to get past this someday.”
From a Partner:
Trying to coordinate the care for an abused child that needs to continue on as well as to get them justice takes a lot of people, a lot of coordination. That’s something we just cannot do in an ER by ourselves. There will be many more children who fall through the cracks without the ABC House.
