ABC HOUSE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ASTIN GODWIN STEPPING DOWN IN MAY
ABC House is sad to announce that Astin Godwin will be departing at the end of May. In the time he’s served as Executive Director, he’s done much to advance ABC House’s mission to benefit the children and families it serves. “Astin brought a fresh perspective,” said Stephenie Martinenko-Ray, ABC House Board President. “He implemented many great ideas that benefit our clients, both now and in the years to come. We are sad to see him go but also extremely grateful for the opportunity of working with him and we wish him well in his next chapter.” Astin is leaving ABC House to pursue other opportunities that he feels better fit his skill set.
During his tenure, Astin focused on increasing ABC House’s long-term financial sustainability, so that despite unforeseen circumstances, child abuse assessment and support services will continue. He also enhanced support for staff, and addressed pressing operational concerns raised by the pandemic. His work lays a solid foundation for the next person to fill the role of Executive Director.
Salem-based human resources firm Cascade Employers Association is overseeing recruitment for the Executive Director position. Ariel Lewis, ABC House Operations Director, will serve as Interim Executive Director until a new Executive Director is recruited. Astin will remain in the role through the end of May 2022.
